What’s New in 2022?
Brownsburg Parks’ facilities and programs are always growing and changing. So what can your family look forward to this year from your Parks Department?
Get ready for a variety of nature activities in the new year! From guided hikes to educational programming, our parks will serve as home base for connecting your family to flora, fauna, animals and insects!
New play features at Blast Off Playground and the Outdoor Classroom will be available.
- Improvements to the Blast Off playground at Williams Park continue in July. Volunteers will swap wooden beams for a plastic composite that holds up to weather more effectively, and a variety of new play features will be added.
- Over at the Outdoor Classroom, kids will find new sensory play features to sharpen fine and gross motor skills. This unique park, located at 710 Alpha Street and adjacent to the Maple Ridge Trail, features two pollinator gardens with more than 23 different species of flora. There is a stage and seating area made from the reclaimed wood of ash trees stricken a couple of years ago by the Emerald Ash Borer. There’s also a raised herb garden, allowing children to engage their sense of taste to discover the flavors of nature.
We’re big on public art, and in 2022 we look forward to working with the art community to add even more pieces to the park system and along the B&O Trail.
We hope to see you in our parks and trails in 2022!
