Welcome Back to B.A.S.E.!

Our B.A.S.E. team couldn’t be happier to welcome your children back to school! During the summer, staff spent time planning a school year full of challenging projects and designing fun and creative Enrichment Clubs. While the school year might look a little different this year, your child will continue to find B.A.S.E. a great place for learning and growing!

“Things are different but my heart is so happy and so full that I am finally back with my kiddos!” said Reagan/Lincoln B.A.S.E. Site Manager Megan Scharlau. “I love my job and I love the kids and families even more.”

Brownsburg Parks is working closely with Brownsburg Community School Corporation and the Hendricks County Health Department, as well as following CDC recommendations, to ensure a safe environment for children and staff. This includes new contactless drop-off and pick-up procedures, enhanced health and safety requirements, and an updated illness policy. Learn more about these new safety measures here.

In addition, all participants and staff are required to wear a mask when social distancing is not possible.

“We know this year has been hard on all of our families,” Recreation Manager Megan Attwood said. “The safety of our participants is our number one priority.”

This year, B.A.S.E. Site Managers have several activities planned to keep kids engaged and burn endless energy.

“I am most excited about our Project WILD activities!” Eagle B.A.S.E. Site Manager Hope Hair said. “Kids get to let their imaginations run wild creating fun crafts while learning about nature and wildlife.”

“We’re doing a lot more outdoor activities this year,” Cardinal/Delaware B.A.S.E. Site Manager Katie Nelson said. “I’m excited to teach teamwork through fun sports games while staying active.”
