Experience what it means to be a true adventurer with Trailblazers Adventure Camp. Designed to expose teenagers to a wide variety of exciting and engaging activities over the summer, this camp is the perfect opportunity to get your teen off the couch, stretch them out of their comfort zone, and experience some of the most exciting places in Central Indiana!
Who: Ages 12-16
When: Monday-Friday. Programming: 8 am-4 pm. Drop off: 6:30-8 am. Pick up: 4-6 pm
Where: Cardinal Elementary School, 3590 Hornaday Road, Door J
Cost: $170/week, *$200 for specialty weeks

Week 1: May 31-June 3 (Closed on May 30)
Theme: Trailblazer Bake Off
Field Trip: British Etiquette Class (Tina Jesson)
Special Guest: Susan Parks (Baking Instructor), Blind Donut Challenge
Campers will battle it out and compete for the title of “Trailblazer Top Chef” in this epic bake-off challenge. Baking Instructor Susan Parks will help campers learn basic food preparation safety, discover how to use a variety of ingredients to create unique flavors, and make their cakes come to life. A panel of expert judges will put the cakes to the test and crown the winner Trailblazer Top Chef!
Week 2: June 6-10
Theme: Parks Make MY Life Better
Field Trip: Fort Harrison, Indiana Premium Outlets, Brown County, Prophetstown State Park, Cataract Falls
Special Guest: Camptown (Canoe Trip/ White River)
We are taking camp outside this week for all kinds of amazing adventures! Campers will travel to a different Indiana State Park each day to immerse themselves in wildlife and nature. With a short stop at Indiana Premium Outlets in Edinburgh shops on the way to Brown County, campers will get to do a little shopping if they like! We will end the week canoeing down the White River with Camptown.
Week 3: June 13-17
Theme: Sun, Sandals, and Sunscreen
Field Trip: Gill Family Aquatic Center, Columbia Park Zoo, Tropicanoe Cove
Special Guest: Camptown (Eagle Creek/ Crux Wall)
Campers will splish-splash at the BHS pool, participate in water relay races at camp, and engage in some super-soaked STEM projects that involve all things water! Campers will end the week by having a wet and wild time at Gill Family Aquatic Center and Tropicanoe Cove. Campers will also go rock climbing and enjoy an educational experience at Eagle Creek Park hiking the trails with Camptown.
Week 4: June 20-24
Theme: My Artistic Self
Field Trip: Indiana Museum of Art, U Paint Pottery, Hummel Park, Painting in the Park
Special Guest: Fresh Park Mobile Skate Park
This amazing week is all about incorporating art into our everyday lives in a fun-filled, adventurous way! Campers will get to paint in the park, choose a pottery piece to paint, and finish the week visiting the IMA and beautiful gardens.
Week 5: June 27-July 1
Theme: Gaming Galore
Field Trip: Sodalis Park, Fun Factory Skating, Dave & Buster’s
Special Guest: Camptown (Fort Ben Fishing Trip)
Roll the dice, jump ahead and see if you can earn the most points this week as we play some of our favorite large group games, board games, game show games, larger than life games, and some of our very own camper-created games! Campers will show their skating skills at Fun Factory Skating! Campers will also travel to Fort Ben for a day filled with fun & fishing on the pond led by Camptown. We will end the week hopefully scoring some BIG points at Dave & Busters!
Week 6: July 5-8 (Closed on July 4)
Theme: Sports Champions
Field Trip: Brownsburg Fire Training Facility, NCAA Hall of Champions, Climb Time Indy
Special Guest: Matt Serd (Brownsburg Fitness, Certified Trainer)
Bring your positive attitudes and good sportsmanship this week to camp as we play all the sports! We will focus on learning the fundamentals of sports like baseball, soccer, basketball, and many more. Campers will participate in a fitness class at Brownsburg Fitness and learn about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet, and that nutrition is key.
Week 7: July 11-15*
Theme: Underwater Mission with Ray’s Scuba Diving
Field Trip: Turkey Run State Park, Murphy Aquatic Park, Newport Aquarium (KY)
Special Guest: Ray’s Scuba
Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater or float effortlessly like an astronaut? Join Ray Scuba for a 2-day adventure to Discover Scuba Diving.
• Learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional.
• Go over the scuba equipment you use to dive and how easy it is to move around underwater weightlessness.
• Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater.
• Learn key skills that you’ll use during every scuba dive.
• Have fun swimming around and exploring underwater doing fun activities, like treasure hunting, underwater photography, and underwater flashlight use.
• Learn how you can make a difference for ocean protection with the Project Aware Specialty.
No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health. Campers will end this exciting week with a trip to the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky.
Week 8: July 18-22*
Theme: Zombie Apocalypse!
Field Trip: Brownsburg Police Academy, Zombie Hunt, Royal Pin Entertainment Laser Tag
Special Guest: Camptown (Shades State Park/ Overnight Camping Trip)
This just in: A virus is spreading through Brownsburg that is leaving its victims in a horrible zombie-like state! To survive, campers will practice their hunting skills by playing laser tag, following clues to track down where the zombies are gathering, and saving the world from this growing epidemic! After saving the world, campers will travel to Shades State Park for an overnight hiking, camping, and canoeing adventure led by Camptown.
Week 9: July 25-27*
Theme: Beach Bound!
Field Trip: Indiana Beach (Monticello IN)
Special Guest: Big Bounce Fun House, Kona Ice
Come help us say “goodbye to summer” in style by taking a mini summer vacation to Indiana Beach! Get ready for roller-coasters, waterparks, sun, FUN, and a pizza party! This is a summer vacation with your friends that you will never forget! Campers will leave early Tuesday morning and arrive home late that night.

How do I register?
To get started, visit our website and create an account (for mobile users, view the full site). After signing in, look under the Activities tab, select Camps, and choose your preferred week(s) and payment option by clicking “Add to Cart” and “Enroll Now.”
Participants must be registered prior to using our services. If your child is not registered at the time of drop off, please be prepared to make a payment on site via debit/credit card or check.
What should I bring to camp?
Each participant will receive a camp T-shirt and water bottle on the first day of camp.
- AM and PM Snack
- Labeled bottle of sunscreen
- Labeled water bottle
- Swimsuit, towel, and a plastic bag for wet clothes (for swimming days)
- Camp T-shirt (must be worn on field trip days)
On Tuesdays, we will go to the Brownsburg High School pool.
Lifeguards at BHS will issue a swim test to anyone who does not want to wear a life jacket. To pass the swim test, the camper must be able to swim the length of the pool without touching the bottom, keep his or her head above the water, and be able to swim without getting too tired.
If a lifeguard determines a camper is not a strong swimmer, the camper will be directed to wear a life jacket. Campers who pass the swim test will receive a bracelet indicating they know how to swim and will be allowed to jump off of the small diving board.
Any camper who does not want to take the swim test will be directed to wear a life jacket. Any camper who chooses not to swim or forgets his or her swim gear will stay behind with the age group that stays at camp.
What are my payment options?
We accept checks, money orders or credit/debit cards on-site, online and in person at the Brownsburg Parks Office, 402 E. Main St.
When you register for camp online, you will be given the choice to pay in full or set up a payment plan. If you choose to pay via a payment plan, you will need to pay a non-refundable $25 deposit up front to reserve your child’s spot.
The remaining camp fees will be due the Monday before the week of camp that you registered for.
Brownsburg Parks is moving away from paper forms and is using ePACT Network to store all comprehensive health and emergency contact information more securely. You will only need to complete this form once a year to save you time and make registration even easier for you!
