Celebrate National Parks & Recreation Month with Us!

July is National Parks and Recreation Month, and despite being in the midst of a pandemic, Brownsburg Parks is finding creative ways to help residents feel somewhat normal during COVID-19.

On Thursday, July 23 at 7 pm we’ll host our first Rock the Block! event at Arbuckle Commons. Grab a beer and enjoy the music of Mike Whitlock, or wash it down with some of the best food truck grub around from Fireboxxe (formerly The Kickstand). Play a variety of games, from bocce to ping pong. Whatever your age, you’ll enjoy this relaxed evening of fun. If you can’t make it this month, keep an eye on our Facebook page @brownsburgparks for upcoming dates.

As the weather heats up, the variety of vegetables at our Brownsburg Farmers Market grows! Stop by Town Hall Green any Thursday from 4-7 pm through Oct. 8 for healthy foods and sweet treats, along with a few specialty items. During the month of July, be sure to stop by the Brownsburg Public Library tent for a special Kids POP club take-home craft!

Fans of local band Audiodacity will want to stake out a good patch of grass at Arbuckle Acres Park on July 25 to hear the band in action as part of our Summer Concert Series. The music starts at 7 p.m. We’ll also have Kona Ice, a food truck and a beer & wine garden available.

Cardinal Bark Park opened at the beginning of this month. Membership fees are $10 for the regular rate and $8 for Brownsburg residents. Apply for your membership online or in-person at the July 23 or July 30 Brownsburg Farmers Market.

Our parks and playgrounds are now open. Please continue to social distance from other visitors, follow CDC hygiene guidance before and after visiting, and keep our parks and trails clean by leaving no trash behind. In addition, our Watermill Splash Pad at Williams Park is open daily from 10 AM – 8:30 PM through September 27.

Finally, we were happy to host our July 4 celebration and grateful to our residents who enjoyed the fireworks while socially distancing. We received a lot of positive feedback on the event and some constructive criticism that will help guide us as we refine this program for next year.

Best wishes for a fun and safe July!
