Cardinal Park
Cardinal Park is Brownsburg’s newest park, with Phase 1 completed in Fall 2018. Phase 1 included installation of stormwater basins (also known as “constructed wetlands”), a parking lot that accommodates 50 vehicles, the extension of Thornburg Parkway to Hornaday Road and the creation of a Recreational Trails Program (RTP) trail that provides access from the B&O Trail north to SR 136 (Main St.).
Phase II construction on this 14-acre site began in fall 2019 with the creation of a 2-acre dog park and a year-round restroom facility.
Phase III is projected to begin in 2021 and will include an inclusive/sensory playground and shelter/pavilion.
