Phase 3 of Cardinal Park includes a universal and inclusive playground and a shelter.


Site Master Planning Process


Staff works with stakeholders to develop plans that take into account costs, maintenance, operational efficiency and impact on the community. Concepts are developed, discussed and consensus is reached.



Specifications are developed which complies with all applicable regulations and codes at the local, state and federal levels.


Building on the final design is completed. Modifications to design may be necessary due to site conditions or other circumstances.


Park is built and regulatory inspections have been passed. The park is open for fun!

Current Stage: Planning

During the Planning Stage, staff will work with consultants and community members to identify playground amenities. Priorities for amenities will be based on Brownsburg Parks’ Strategic Master Plan, which was created using survey data provided by residents.

At the December 16, 2020 Park Board meeting, staff presented a concept for the playground at Cardinal Park. This concept was created in partnership with K1ds Count Therapy, LLC and our B.A.S.E. staff in order to create an inclusive and sensory playground.
