2023 Employees of the Year

Congratulations to our 2023 Employees of the Year! The employees were nominated and selected by their colleagues. They have gone above and beyond to help us achieve our mission and vision.

Rookie of the Year

Molly GibbsMolly Gibbs, Recreation Coordinator - Parks 

Molly is an outstanding employee who has consistently demonstrated hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence as a Recreation Coordinator. She is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events and programs for the community. Molly has gone above and beyond to ensure that events are inclusive, fun, and safe for everyone. In her first year as a full-time employee, she successfully managed premier events for the Town of Brownsburg, including the Brownsburg Farmers Market, Summer Soundtracks, Pints and Pickleball, Blues in the 'Burg, and Christmas Under the Stars. All events were highly successful this year, with record-breaking attendance and vendor participation.

Molly's leadership in organizing the Brownsburg Farmer's Market was a highlight of her contributions, resulting in a well-planned and successful event with themed markets throughout the summer. She worked tirelessly to meet all vendor needs, crucial to the event's success and the market's future. Her ability to build strong relationships with community partners, vendors, and volunteers has also been instrumental in the organization's success. 

Furthermore, Molly's attitude and ability to pivot when needed have been appreciated during the significant changes the Parks Department has undergone this year. Molly has consistently gone above and beyond in her department, always ensuring that she gives her best and supports her team. She has taken dedication to a new level with her passion and attention to detail in each event, ensuring their success and value to the community. 

Overall, Molly is well deserving of the "Rookie of the Year" Employee of the Year award, and her contributions have significantly impacted the organization.

Ignitor of the Year

jenna wertmanJenna Wertman, Development Services Director - Development Services

Jenna is an outstanding employee who embodies the Ignitor values. As the only Senior Planner and later Development Services Director, Jenna managed the department's operations, including strategic planning, project management, budgeting, and staff supervision. She went above and beyond to ensure the department ran smoothly and efficiently, even during challenging times.

Jenna is an exceptional planner with a deep understanding of Town zoning and ordinances. She is skilled at communicating effectively with other departments. She has made remarkable contributions to the department, including managing the UDO update and serving as one of only two planners for most of the year. Jenna's leadership and organizational skills have been particularly evident this past year. She was crucial in developing and implementing new policies and procedures that enabled us to continue providing essential services to our community.

In addition to her technical skills, Jenna is also an excellent communicator and team player who volunteers to work during Town events. She has built strong relationships with our department's staff, community partners, developers, and business owners, and she is always willing to go above and beyond to help others.

Jenna's exceptional performance and embodiment of the Ignitor values have earned her the prestigious Ignitor Employee of the Year award.
