We're grateful to have been awarded a $4,000 grant from the Parks Foundation of Hendricks County! This grant, in partnership with the Hendricks County Community Foundation, will go towards a mobile nature discovery cart and related supplies.
Our Naturalist, Riley Kuhns, will utilize the specially designed mobile nature discovery cart to facilitate outdoor exploration and education. The cart will be equipped with self-directed activity tubs and leader-directed programs.
The self-directed activity tubs will have a range of materials and tools carefully chosen to spark curiosity and encourage hands-on exploration of the natural world. Each tub will provide a unique experience tailored to different age groups and interests. From magnifying glasses and field guides to plant identification cards and nature journals, these activities will inspire independent discovery and promote a sense of wonder about the environment.
Leader-directed programs will include guided nature walks, interactive demonstrations, and themed workshops covering wildlife conservation, gardening, and ecological sustainability.
