Town of Brownsburg Comprehensive Plan

Planning and building staff rely on several documents to inform our recommendations. One of the most important documents for the department is the Comprehensive Plan. The 2019 Town of Brownsburg Comprehensive Plan is a tool that serves as the official policy guide for the town's physical growth. The document is a combination snapshot and crystal ball; that is, it examines the whole community as it is at a point in time and looks to the desired future state.

Town of Brownsburg Unified Development Ordinance (UDO)

The Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) (PDF) governs land use and development throughout the Town of Brownsburg. It is the the primary source of land use regulations, including zoning and subdivision control ordinances. The UDO is drafted based on guidance from the adopted Comprehensive Plan.

Share Your Thoughts on the Unified Development Ordinance

Development Services is working on updates to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). This ordinance sets out the details of how property can be developed within the Town of Brownsburg including regulations on structure height and size, landscaping type and quantity, and parking space numbers and size, among other items.

This is an initial survey to help prioritize some topics that have been discussed over the last year and gain some insight on what is important to you for housing and business around Brownsburg. You can take the survey from now until August 15.
